A model?
April 30th, 2005 by P. M. BarendtThe true form of evil is merely selfishness at the real expense of others, whereas the true form of good is merely selflessness at the real expense of self. Human behavior and human essence will never truly fit into any model, as it is home to outliers as severe as any other population distribution, but we cannot allow a regression of what it is or means to be human to be perfectly coloured by such outliers. This does not make any model of humanity to be good or applicable, however, but it does ring true when one finds “truth” in many conflicting statements and paradoxes. Some models are closer to truth than others.
Many have commented on the ideal or perfect “forms” of humanity - and these are the non-existent impossibilities of human paragon. This “idealism” creates a hole within the cloud of humanity.
